The architecture of a lone onion dome church in the vast Saskatchewan landscape fascinated artist couple Fritz and Waltraude Stehwien. This 4th book in the series of Stehwien’s prairie artworks, features select motifs of Ukrainian churches. As the artist couple traveled in their small VW (in all seasons!) to discover remote places of worship, it quickly became clear that these buildings are more than just picturesque. They are evidence of how a peoples’ faith established a community through determination and resilience. This strength continues to shine, not only in stories of the early pioneers, but with each one of these small or large monuments of worship discovered while driving through the countryside. A location map is included with the index.
The book is dedicated to the people of the Ukraine, currently struggling in a situation of war with all its horrors and hardships.
